Join us as Research & Technology Project Lead (Project Delivery Professional), where you will take on responsibility for the delivery of our Research and Technology (R&T) programme. In this role you will manage across a complex landscape that draws on multidisciplinary engineering expertise, to define and deliver an integrated programme of work that drives UK readiness to respond to current and future technological risks. You will work closely with our Assistant Chief Engineering teams and with our customer network of Technical Leads at the UK Ministry of Defence to achieve this â as well as wider partners across the UK technical base. In role you will report to the Project Delivery Manager â Research & Technology. You will play a leading role within a wider team of project delivery professionals to plan, manage and control performance; diagnosing challenges and driving management action to ensure successful delivery of R&T work that has an impact on our current and future programmes. What you will be doing: As Research & Technology Project Lead, you will: Work closely with the Project Delivery Manager, engineering teams, subject matter experts and specialists to support the definition of programme requirements. Lead on mobilising the respective resources and activities necessary to deliver against requirements, including integration with wider business areas and functions. Take responsibility for the delivery of work to cost, specification and time â in line with business financial commitments. Plan, monitor, review, and report on the status of assigned scopes of work in accordance with the project requirements and project management processes â including management of necessary documentation, artefacts, and executive system data. Develop the wider team of R&T project delivery professionals to operate at a high standard, improving individual skillsets and team operation (processes, systems, tools, methods) to deliver exceptional service. Deputise for the Project Delivery Manager and represent the programme at internal and external reviews and meetings when necessary. Act as a focal point for the project, leading on stakeholder management and project management governance activities, proposing and making decisions (as appropriate within delegations), providing direction and ensuring any escalations are made clearly to project leadership with clear evidence and options for action. Leadership experience: developing high-performing teams to deliver work for external stakeholders, able to coach teams to apply robust challenge and deliver quality outputs, at pace, with clear logic and evidence. Programme management experience: knowledge of project management and controls practices, including schedule, risk, performance and financial management; APM PMQ or equivalent experience. Good working knowledge of Programme Management, Enterprise Resource Planning and business MI systems such as SAP, Primavera P6, FULCRUM and integrating across these tools.
