About the role

As an Assistant within our Emerging Science & Innovation team you’ll dive into the world of creating consumer-focused, technically superior products while honing your scientific skills. This role is an opportunity to be involved with critical projects, from ideation to execution, and collaborate with a spectrum of talented professionals. In this role you will provide relevant scientific and technical knowledge to support the creation and delivery of initiatives, projects and programmes within the R&D Science Platforms team Closing Date - Friday 20th JuneApplications may close before the deadline, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Your responsibilities

- Accountable for providing R&D support to technical delivery of a designated range of Science Platforms projects and programmes- Ensure projects are completed compliantly, to high quality and on time.- Perform feasibility and development work for projects and tasks that you are responsible for- Support identifying key technical risks and propose risk mitigation actions- Source suitable techniques to characterise critical product parameters- Responsible for any laboratory experiments or procedure within the team- Responsible for the completion, approval, circulation and communication of technical reports/ technical data throughout development- Understand the relevant regulatory and/or legislative environment, safety requirements and intellectual property for project or technology work- Work closely with other functions when alignment is necessary for activities within the project you are responsible for- Ability to identify resource needed for execution/ completion of assigned tasks and flag if there is a capacity concern- Track and highlight competitor technologies and scientific advances in the assigned area- Ensure all product development work adheres to relevant Reckitt or external quality, regulatory or Health and Safety standards (e.g. Reckitt Quality Manual)

The experience we're looking for

- Degree, MSc or PhD in chemistry, or similar relevant discipline- Experience in the FMCG industry is desired - Proven ability to deal with ambiguity- Skilled in the understanding, interpretation and communication of scientific data- Strong communication and presentation skills- Experience of technology and/or product due diligence is desired- Strong interpersonal skills such as influencing and relationship building.- Experience of working in a matrix environment is desired- Clear and effective scientific writing skills- Project management skills (budget management, planning and milestone management, resource and risk management are desired
