The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior researcher to join the LSHTM team of the HIGH Horizons Consortium to work on a large multi-country collaborative project assessing the health effects of climate change on maternal and neonatal health in sub-Saharan Africa (HIGH Horizons).

They will be part of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology & International Health, and the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant first degree in the field of social sciences or health sciences, with substantial experience of working in research or research communications within a higher education, global and public health, environmental or climate science. It is essential to have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and the ability to present information in clear, concise, and compelling ways to technical and non-academic audiences. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 31 August 2026. The post is funded by the EU-UKRI and is available immediately.

 The salary will be on the Academic Pathway scale Grade 5 in the range £39,432 - £45,097 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
