The Commodities Support team is a well-established, globally distributed group responsible for providing essential application support to the Commodities trading business. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse range of partners, including trading desks, operations, middle office, risk, and controls, all with the shared goal of ensuring the availability and efficiency of vital trading applications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Enhancing Stability and Support: You will be instrumental in providing robust stability and support to the Commodities trading business across various functions.
  • Driving Efficiency through Automation: A key focus will be on delivering greater efficiency and system stability through innovative automation, rigorous failover testing, and effective incident and problem management lifecycles.
  • Implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles: You'll leverage SRE methodologies to significantly improve application availability and performance.
  • Reducing Toil: Your contributions will be crucial in reducing repetitive, manual tasks ("toil") through automation, enhanced resiliency, and robust observability.
  • Incident Management: You'll play a vital role in managing, triaging, communicating, and resolving live business-impacting incidents with speed and precision.
  • Performance Analysis and Insights: You will deliver critical observability and analytical insights into application performance and capacity, proposing actionable solutions.
  • Tooling and Scalability: You'll contribute to the implementation of scalable solutions by working with a curated catalogue of advanced tooling.

What We're Looking For:

  • Application Support Experience: Demonstrable experience in an Application Support role, with a preference for candidates with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Solid knowledge and experience with Problem Management Tools and a deep understanding of the Incident Management process.
  • Automation Skills: Proven ability to deliver automation and solutions that effectively reduce toil.
  • Analytical and Technical Prowess: Strong analytical and technical skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner to diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with technologies such as Oracle, Mongo, SQL, ITRS, Grafana, Kibana, Kafka, UNIX, and OTEL is highly valued.
  • Organizational Skills: The ability to effectively plan, organize workload, and triage tasks based on urgency is critical.
