The Role: Hands-On Engineering with a Focus on Excellence

As a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of a vital Irvine Facility. Working a standard Monday to Friday day shift, your responsibilities will be both hands-on and strategic. You'll leverage your deep understanding of electrical regulations to uphold Health & Safety standards and building codes, ensuring the facility operates at peak efficiency and remains audit-ready. This is more than just maintenance; it's about owning the upkeep and improvement of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities and Advantages for Your Career Growth:

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Take ownership of closing out electrical defects and implementing improvements for lighting and small power systems. This directly contributes to the quality and regulatory compliance of production areas, a crucial skill that enhances your value.
  • Master Critical Systems: Gain hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining site CCTV, Net2 Access Control, and fire equipment. Reducing downtime in these areas demonstrates your ability to minimize operational disruptions and boost site knowledge.
  • Lead and Collaborate: You will have the opportunity to lead and support contractor management for specific electrical works, from maintenance to construction. This leadership experience is invaluable for career progression.
  • Develop Procurement Acumen: Engage with the purchasing process, including PRs, POs, quotations, and SAP. This exposure to commercial aspects of engineering projects broadens your skillset.
  • Contribute to Facility Enhancements: Support Capital Expenditure (Capex) works for the facility, offering insights and contributing to significant upgrades and improvements.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Own the process of facility electrical isolations from design through to implementation and long-term management, a testament to your commitment to safety protocols.
  • Portable Appliance Testing: Take responsibility for site portable appliance testing and maintaining accurate records, a fundamental aspect of electrical safety compliance.

What Makes You the Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking individuals who bring practical experience and a proactive approach. While not all are strictly mandatory, the following qualifications and experiences will significantly strengthen your application and highlight your potential:

  • Proven experience in Electrical Engineering, with a preference for roles within Facilities or maintenance.
  • Experience with Preventative Planned Maintenance Management.
  • A strong understanding of Facilities plant and equipment.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • A good understanding of Building Management Systems and project management processes.
  • Qualified to City and Guilds Level 3 (installation and maintenance) and BS 7671- 17th Edition IET (18th Edition is desirable).
