ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We're looking to recruit a Software Engineer to work in our International & CHAPS Lab providing payment options for all of our customers. Specifically, to support our new industry-leading International Payments Platform (IPP). Our strategic roadmap includes a Payments Industry product called Global Payments Plus (GPP). This product is being used to deliver key revenue streams as well as enable mandatory compliance. WHAT YOUâLL BE DOING Day to day, you will Work as part of a self-organised engineering team to design and develop software features or services that are delightful and vital in our mission to help Britain prosper. Working in the private / public cloud domain at scale, primarily with LBG Private Cloud/GCP. Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment WHAT YOUâLL NEED Experienced in Java Spring boot or similar technology based API development Experience is these technology is advantageous: REACT, Java EE (J2EE), SQL, Python Experienced with modern engineering concepts and technologies such as Microservices, RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, Kafka, Git, Jenkins. Good understanding of distributed system architectures. Experience working with Cloud based Database systems and cloud native apps would be beneficial Ability to write efficient and scalable software as well as experience with building performant systems. Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively across engineering function to maximise inner-sourcing opportunities and reduce waste. An advocate for quality who can support the Engineering team leveraging: CI/CD best practice, Pair Programming, TDD/BDD Good analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
