Job Description: Senior Manager Pay Services Locations: Salford Quays M50 3SP, Kirkstall Forge, Leeds LS5 3BF Full-time position: 37.5hours Salary: Up to £85,000 Hybrid and flexible working options available. Job Summary/About This Role This role is the delegate of the Head of Pay & Benefits Services and the most senior payroll specialist in the organisation, responsible for both UK and global payrolls, expenses, Earned Wage Access, and employee loans, as well as payroll controls. This role exists to create a level of service delivery that appropriately reflects our ambitious growth agenda and values: Brave, Caring, and Responsible. It is pivotal in ensuring Pay Services have an unblemished reputation for customer focus and in building strong partnerships around the business and externally with commercial suppliers. This role places importance on creating a well-developed team, resulting in a provision that is scalable, able to absorb business change effortlessly, and has the elasticity to match growth, either through acquisition or organic growth. Key responsibilities Drive value and excellence in delivery. Promote accessibility of Payroll Services and manage Service Levels. Drive ambitious benchmarks and empower the Operations team to achieve them. Forge strong relationships with Pensions, Taxation, People Technology, Global Mobility, and UK Reward teams. Build strong relationships with external partners, focusing on reputation management. Champion risk and control awareness Maintain a âliveâ suite of processes and procedures. Manage expatriate records and be the key contact for senior customers. Support the Head of Pay & Benefits Services in implementing new policies and initiatives. Manage the relationships with external statutory bodies where appropriate and alongside internal Taxation and Payroll Compliance teams. Respond to divestments, acquisitions, and portfolio changes. Identify and respond to legislative changes, providing subject matter expertise. What We Require From You, Experience and Skills You Can Bring Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with senior stakeholders. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, bringing knowledge of global payrolls across EMEA/AMER/APAC regions. Either CIPP/CIPD/CIMA qualification or equivalent, studying toward or qualified by experience. Sound understanding of reward, benefits administration, international payrolls, and mobility. Experience of a broad range of payroll providers/HCM systems. Strong project management and troubleshooting skills. This is a senior operations role requiring someone who is fully integrated into the business with the ability to manage payroll services at a high level. You will oversee both UK and global payrolls, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
