British Gas Business (BGB) is the leading provider of energy to SMEs in the UK and is focused on helping customers use energy simply, sustainably and affordably.⯠We are looking for an experienced Metering professional to join our team in British Gas Business (BGB).⯠In the diverse world of energy and metering, we strive to make things simple, energising a greener fairer future via the implementation and maintenance of a resilient metering network. The Senior Metering Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for ensuring BGB meet obligations with industry bodies and partners via the accurate forecasting of asset needs, the timely ordering of assets from our peers in Centrica Smart Meter Assets (CSMA), oversight of our metering partners commissioning of meters post installation, and the validation of metering related invoicing. This role is pivotal in supporting BGB cost control, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction through effective asset lifecycle management and collaboration across teams within Centrica. Location - Any Centrica UK site with flexible Homeworking Key Accountabilities Maintain robust forecasting models for metering asset requirements based on customer demand, regulatory obligations, metering partner installation performance and business growth ambitions. Collaborate with procurement, CSMA, and third-party teams to ensure timely availability of metering stock. Work closely with, BGB Business Excellence, BGB Metering partner management and third-party installers to optimise deployment efficiency and minimise asset wastage. Implement performance dashboards and KPIs to monitor installation progress and quality; sharing risks and issues with both leadership and partners. Lead the governance and assurance of SMART (SMETS) meter commissioning processes. Ensure compliance with DCC, SEC, and regulatory frameworks. Drive continuous improvement in commissioning success rates and fault resolution. Own the end-to-end process for validating and approving metering-related invoices, including installation, maintenance, and asset rental charges. Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate accruals and budget forecasting. Act as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, suppliers, and industry forums. Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience Excellent stakeholder influencing and management skills at all levels, Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational processes. Experience leading the teams who; conduct process delivery analysis, and the forecasting of delivery based upon trend analysis. It is desirable that the role holder has strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions, as well as financial reconciliation. Ability to step back and understand the wider business context and priorities. An experienced leader (of partners, process or people) in the utilities industry. Strong understanding of metering and Industry processes; specifically, SMETs and DCC Operations, as well as associated industry codes.
