Job at Lloyds Banking Group in Leeds, West Yorkshire

Unlocking Your Potential as a Senior Product Owner in Private Banking & Tech Modernisation

Are you an experienced Product Owner with a passion for driving transformation in the financial sector? This Senior Product Owner role within the Private Banking & Tech Modernisation Lab presents a compelling opportunity to shape the future of customer-centric financial services. If you're energized by complex change, motivated by customer success, and eager to contribute to strategic growth, this position could be your next impactful career move.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Strategic Impact: You'll be instrumental in a significant customer-focused strategic growth and transformation journey for UK Private Banking. Your work will directly contribute to helping Affluent and High Net Worth customers achieve their financial goals across multiple brands.
  • Innovation Hub: The Private Banking & Tech Modernisation Lab is at the forefront of this transformation. Joining this team means being part of an innovative environment focused on evolving services through technology.
  • Leadership & Vision: This role offers the chance to lead pivotal initiatives, shape product vision to meet customer needs, and ensure the successful delivery of complex technical releases.
  • Agile at Scale: Experience working in an Agile delivery environment at scale is a core requirement, offering you the opportunity to refine and apply your skills in a large, dynamic organisation.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: The organisation offers a robust benefits package, including a generous pension contribution (up to 15%), annual bonus potential, share schemes, adaptable lifestyle benefits, 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and a strong focus on wellbeing with generous parental leave policies.
  • Flexible Working: Embracing modern work practices, the role supports flexible working options, including hybrid arrangements and job sharing, allowing for a better work-life balance.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Prioritisation & Collaboration: A critical aspect of this role involves clearly articulating team priorities to business partners and other Labs. Strong coordination with other Product Owners to manage dependencies and backlogs is essential.
  • Delivery Accountability: You will be accountable for delivery against Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), requiring a data-driven approach to revise objectives based on new findings.
  • Holistic Product Development: Beyond functional features, you will be responsible for ensuring non-functional elements of products are considered. This includes robustness, performance, scalability, usability, extensibility, maintainability, and ease of integration.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: A key responsibility is to shape the product vision ensuring solutions meet customer needs without creating "failure demand." This encourages a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Test & Learn Culture: Encouraging a team culture of testing and learning through prototypes and MVPs in a model office environment is a key expectation, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Management: Excellent influencing skills and stakeholder engagement are paramount, as is strong dependency management and effective risk and issue resolution.
  • Desirable Experience: While not essential, a good understanding of customer service and banking products, alongside technical literacy to grasp concepts and communicate effectively with technical teams, would be highly beneficial.

This Senior Product Owner position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to a leading financial institution's strategic transformation. If you possess the required experience and are driven by impact and innovation, this role provides a platform for substantial career growth and development within a values-led, inclusive organisation.
