Job Description JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810 LOCATION: Edinburgh HOURS: Full time WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Edinburgh office. About this opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer in the Customer Waterfront Lab to help us expand our Scottish Widows Digital Platform working across mobile and web applications. As member of an end to end feature team you will contribute to and improve the behaviour-driven development expertise across the team, ensuring we have a consistent and successful approach to testing and quality. You will achieve this via test automation frameworks as well as manual testing. This covers functional, accessibility, security, compatibility and performance testing to group standards, as well as using metrics and customer study to help present a fabulous experience. Day-to-day work will include: Design and build diligent, maintainable and modular automation frameworks/suites. Complete exploratory, functional, accessibility, security, compatibility and performance testing alongside automated testing. Develop and extend frameworks, templates and guidelines for developing test scripts. Write detailed Test Plans and End of Test Reports, evidencing the quality of the software we ship. Understand and write the test data requirements, collaborating closely with the external teams across the Value Stream and beyond. Act as mentor to junior Engineers, encouraging our culture of collaboration and openness to thrive. About us We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. What you’ll need A solid understanding of react.js /microservices / NodeJS / BDD Best Practice Experience of using automated testing tools (e.g. Newman, Playwright, BurpSuite, Performance Center) Previous experience that has given you an understanding of programming principles and standard methodology, e.g. for crafting re-usable, modular and sophisticated code. You're excited by DevOps tooling for the execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT, GitHub, Docker. Ability to work without supervision and offer mentorship and leadership to others.
