We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Skills and Simulation Technician to join our Technical Services team.
The successful applicant will work with a dedicated technical services team supporting a range of departments involved in training healthcare professionals. They will also help the team to maintain our state-of-the-art clinical skills and simulation facilities and medical equipment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Technical support for teaching and learning activities in specialist facilities such as wards and clinics. Providing technical advice and guidance particularly regarding specialist techniques and equipment. Setting up equipment and materials Routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a range of equipment Ensuring working spaces and equipment are properly maintained and kept in good order to ensure an optimal academic and technical working environment. Maintain electronic and hard copy records relating to equipment and consumables (such as inventories, records of stock levels and equipment loans)This is a great opportunity to be part of a committed and friendly technical team. We are keen to receive applications from candidates with some experience in the clinical setting, who are motivated and able to use their own initiative but also work as part of the team. The team also provide support for occasional outreach, open days and similar activities, so a flexible approach is essential.
You may have undergraduate degree in in a medical-related, or other health-related discipline or a suitable combination of education/experience in a technical or clinical role. The minimum accepted qualifications include BTEC, HND, NVQ (level 3 or above) or equivalent with a minimum of GSCE maths and English language or equivalent. Please note, this is not an IT or computing related technical post.
The role requires a strong understanding of workplace health & safety, good communication skills, experience of Microsoft Office and a positive commitment to continuing professional development.
