The Solution Architect will be responsible for leading the solution architecture and owning the technology roadmaps for our iD Mobile technology estate. They will evaluate our business needs alongside our chosen implementation partners and identify how technology can deliver those needs.
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
• Work with external partners on product roadmap alignment with iD business plans • Collaborate with technical leads, business analysts and project managers on a wide range of technology projects, including software development, package implementations and infrastructure upgrades/changes • Support business and technology partners with strategic planning and product development roadmaps as required • Work with the service improvement manager to troubleshoot and resolve incidents; optimise and risk proof the operational technology stack • Advise business and technology groups on future enterprise solution options, outlining risks, costs, benefits, and capabilities • Communicate with stakeholders all architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies • Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT and Telco industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies • Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders • Review new and existing initiatives for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans • Engage with procurement on sourcing of new technologies to support iD business initiatives • Act as sign-off for internal and external partner solution design
In addition to project delivery work, the role will also support the operation in the event of major incident and problem management. They will work with the service improvement manager to drive efficiency and manage risk within the technology stack.
You will need:
• Must have experience of working as a Solution Architect in an eCommerce environment • Must have experience of working in an API First space • An understanding of Azure cloud hosting • Exposure to MuleSoft or similar integration platforms as well as legacy integration methods • Excellent communication skills • Worked in complex IT environment and fast-paced delivery • Must be able to demonstrate ability to deal with uncertainty and deliver pragmatic solutions • Full SDLC experience in both Agile & Waterfall environments (Must have experience in agile methodology) • Telco experience essential, MVNO experience desirable • Knowledge of infrastructure both Cloud and on premise (Linux, VMs, network integrations, security tooling) • Knowledge of Firewalls, WAF, load balancers • Experience of working with Online Charging Solutions (OCS) • Extensive problem-solving skills
