About the Role:
Join our dynamic team at University of Staffordshire's Sports Centre! We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Sport and Health Assistant to support the daily operations of our facility. This role involves managing event setups and takedowns, ensuring the safety and supervision of our members, and performing equipment and facility inspections. You will also maintain high standards of cleanliness and act as a first aider for accidents or injuries. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will handle inquiries, complaints, and escalate issues when necessary. Additionally, you will contribute to sports development by working with BUCS teams and attending regional/national meetings on behalf of the university.
Main Responsibilities:
• Event Management: Assist with the setup, takedown, and operation of activities and events, including handling heavy equipment when necessary.
• Supervision: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of facility members, providing necessary inductions.
• Customer Service: Establish positive customer relationships, handle queries and complaints, and escalate when appropriate.
• Maintenance: Perform cleaning duties and conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting faults or defects.
• First Aid: Act as a First Aider, managing accidents and injuries, completing relevant documentation, and preventing reoccurrences.
• Reception Support: Manage bookings, take payments, and undertake additional duties aligned with environmental sustainability goals.
• Sports Development: Work with BUCS teams, attend regional/national meetings, and administer BUCS weekly fixtures and events.
