Key Responsibilities and What You'll Do:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive, cross-functional engagement plans, defining activities, channels, and timelines.
• Track stakeholder feedback, develop standardised tools and templates for consistency, and maintain accurate engagement records.
• Conduct thorough stakeholder mapping and profiling, assessing interest, influence, and impact to ensure needs and expectations are understood and addressed.
• Collaborate with community liaison, corporate affairs, communications, and local authority engagement teams to align governance and delivery with project standards.
• Support teams and senior leaders in coordinating multi-channel engagement efforts, acting as the subject matter expert and identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
• Champion the benefits of SSEN Transmission's significant investment programme, growing strategic partnerships to maximise legacy and social value impacts, and communicating opportunities clearly.

• Experience Essential: Proven experience in developing and implementing effective stakeholder engagement plans is critical. Experience with large infrastructure programmes, standardising engagement, or implementing governance at scale would be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of the Energy Sector: Familiarity with Energy Networks and SSEN Transmission's role in achieving clean power targets will be beneficial.
• Educational Background: A degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Town and Country Planning, Environmental Management, Social Research, Communications, Project or Programme Management, Strategy, Business, or Engineering Management is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are paramount. The ability to convey complex information succinctly, tailor messages to diverse audiences, and confidently influence internal and external stakeholders is key.
• Problem-Solving and Adaptability: A proactive, self-motivated, and resilient individual with strong problem-solving capabilities and a capacity to think strategically and consider long-term goals.
• Technical Proficiency: Essential proficiency in Microsoft 365. Knowledge of engagement platforms like Tractivity or standards such as AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard would be an asset.
