As Student Support Officer you can expect to be involved in:
Providing support and guidance to both KMMS students requiring non-academic advice, including drop-ins, regular support meetings (in-person and online) and follow-up as required.Making referrals to, and communicate with, other University departments that offer support services to students so that students with difficulties receive a seamless support experience.Providing guidance and support to students and staff on the extenuating circumstances procedures in accordance with KMMS policies and procedures in a timely fashion so that students who are experiencing difficulties are given every chance to succeed.Contributing to the development and maintenance of KMMS SLW resources and communications. Including those published on the KMMS Student/Staff portals, the student/applicant newsletters and social media.What will you bring to the role?
Educated to A level standard or equivalent Substantial experience of working in a student facing role in HEExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to deal confidently and diplomatically with a range of people at all levels, modifying your approach when necessaryStrong judgement and initiative with the ability to effectively interpret and apply policies and procedures, understand and solve problems and make suggestions for improvementsWe are ambitious for our people, our communities and the region we serve – join us in making the world a better place.
