Job Description Job Title: Submarine Production Supply Chain Performance DSST Lead Working Pattern: Full time Working location: Derby We have an exciting opportunity for a Submarine Production Supply Chain Performance DSST Lead to join the Rolls-Royce Team at Derby. The Supply Chain Performance Lead DSST, will lead the work with BAE to manage supplier performance on both DN and SSNA, from cost, schedule and quality perspective, ensuring a consistent approach to managing the supply chain on both programmes DN and SSNA with common MI and tools. What you will be doing: Ensure BAE's Tier 2 supplier performance for DSST Suppliers. To ensure they support the dreadnought build programme, cost, quality and delivery Managing and understanding the potential impacts of assumptions, dependencies and exclusions. Leading the effective governance and maintenance of project reporting for their scope, assuring the delivery of supply chain and procurement activity is to time, cost and quality: Contract Admin completed in timely manner to facilitate efficient supplier contracting Assuring the overall performance of their scope against the project requirements. Identifying, monitoring, and challenging on the management of known issues, risks, and opportunities within their scope. Reviewing and assuring proposed sub-contracts and working with stakeholders to ensure they meet programme requirements. Understanding and challenge the drivers of in-year spend and commitment activity within their area of scope and the key forecast longer term activities Develop and implement value for money opportunities in the tier 2 supply chain for Platform Develop and implement creditable supplier performance objectives with the primes, covering supplier commitments, both timeliness and value. Monthly material performance reviews which presents the commercial, delivery and quality performance of the tier 2 suppliers for Dreadnought Agree material Incentives with the primes that under pin improved supplier performance on the programme, with appropriate governance Manage supplier change request through submarine production change process Any issues (QCD & logistics/storage) arising can be mitigated (eg reactive supplier development) can be identified to reduce the risk to the programme and will provide an escalation to programme AMC / ALB Ensuring that commercial (head contract) obligations are being flowed into the tier 2s e.g. material obsolescence, security, capacity, with appropriate governance A monthly status report of all permissioned material scope including contractual obligations / sub-tier flowdown requirements. Supplier commitments are being flowed down into Tier 2s in line with permissioning plan Early visibility of early contractual issues with the Tier 2 suppliers, agree actions plan to resolve any issues arising Provision of a supply chain performance and issues report to the BIMs for items impacting / potentially impacting programme. Identification and Flow down of material obsolescence & security requirements Work in collaboration with Supply Chain capability team to agree forward permissioning plan Who weâre looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. Graduate-level qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience Relevant information knowledge or experience on major capital investment programmes Significant experience of working with stakeholders across multiple functions and grade structures Experience of working in Supply Chain, preferably with a continuous improvement mentality Desirable â experience of working within a major UK investment project, involving both public and private sector organisations Desirable â experience of single sourcing contract regulations Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and exert influence both within and outside direct line management Excellent project management skills. Strong leadership / team management skills and experience Desirable â knowledge of the UK Defence Sector and Submarines Enterprise Commercially astute Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
