A unique position has become available for a male Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting some of our male students with their intimate care needs, as well as supporting them in their education.
We have two male students with cerebral palsy and require intimate care, as well as physical care, during the school day. This role will require moving, handling and intimate care in order to support our students with their personal and intimate care needs. Experience in this type of role would be an advantage but all relevant training will be provided.
Our Teaching Assistants want to make a difference by enabling students to learn, promoting their independence and helping them to achieve. You will also support the implementation of their Medical Plan and Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Ideally, you will have experience of working with students in an educational setting although transferable skills gained in another care setting would be acceptable. In addition, you will have a good standard of education to enable you to effectively support students in a classroom setting.
A genuine occupational requirement for a male worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
