The successful candidate will have a first degree and a PhD qualification or PhD near to completion, in electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronic engineering, control system engineering, or closely related disciplines. You must also be a member of Professional Engineering Institutions, such as IET, IMechE, etc. You will hold a formal teaching qualification, such as a PGCHE, and/or have a fellowship of Advance HE (at FHEA or SFHEA level) or be willing to achieve this once in post. You will have relevant academic experience in designing, delivering, assessing, and managing work-based learning modules and programmes. Familiarity with VLE software such as Blackboard and a positive student feedback record are also essential.
You will be responsible for teaching modules alone and/or co-teaching modules with other colleagues. You will also work with colleagues to innovate and improve delivery and assessment tools at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Therefore, excellent communication with other members of the teaching, coaching, and administration teams, as well as strict adherence to quality assurance measures, is essential to the role.
In addition, you will play a key role in various operational aspects of APEC, including engagement with employers and professional bodies, acting as either academic or professional supervisor to students, and participating in open days and outreach activities.
