We manage and mitigate risk and deliver quality insurance products and services to protect the companys employees, assets, and liabilities and to meet its contractual obligations to customers across the group.</p><br> <p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><br> <p>We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Major Claims to lead our major loss function across all non-life insurance classes within DHL Group. This role is critical in providing both strategic and operational leadership to our business partners and Insurance & Risk Management (IRM) claim teams in managing and coordinating major and complex losses.</p><br> <p><strong>Location</strong>: London</p><br> <p><strong>Moreover, your main tasks will be:</strong></p><br> <ul> <li>Direct and manage the major loss control tower, overseeing the resolution of significant claims against and by DHL Group within global insurance programs across all classes of insurance.</li> <li>Formulate and align the strategic major loss strategy with DHL Group Divisional claim owners and insurers, execute the strategy, adapt as necessary, and report on outcomes and lessons learned.</li> <li>Manage all aspects of major claims, including financial impacts (reserving, recoveries, and payments), closure strategies, milestones, and progress reports.</li> <li>Provide immediate, proactive, and proportional responses to incidents, enabling the business to effectively manage customer expectations.</li> <li>Instruct and coordinate with appropriate external resources and experts, including loss adjusters, surveyors, legal counsel, insurers (claims agents), and subrogation experts.</li> <li>Manage and direct external service providers, including Third Party Administrators, ensuring performance delivery and effective account relationship management.</li> <li>Collaborate with regional senior Insurance & Risk Management claim functions to maintain effective communication and coordination regarding major claims and their impact on business relationships.</li> <li>Provide a central escalation and referral function for technical and policy coverage queries and issues related to claims, both above and below the major loss threshold.</li> <li>Review the root causes of major or recurring losses and provide insights to the business on operational risk, contracting risk, and other risk mitigations.</li> <li>Conduct large loss review meetings and prepare reports for Board-level business review meetings and other stakeholders, covering all aspects of major claims.</li> <li>Develop strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders.</li> </ul>   <p><strong>Your profile</strong> should look like:</p><br> <ul> <li>University degree and/or a professional qualification in insurance (e.g., ACII, AIRM, CILA).</li> <li>15 years in complex claims management at a senior level, with deep knowledge of claims processes and policy coverages.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of global legal issues as a claims manager/loss adjuster within the insurance industry.</li> <li>International business and claims handling experience with a proven track record in the marine transportation/logistics sector.</li> <li>Strong leadership capabilities with effective delegation and direction across claims portfolios.</li> <li>Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for all management levels.</li> <li>Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work under deadlines.</li> </ul>   <p><strong>We offer:</strong></p><br> <p>At DHL, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
