Job Description Verification and Validation Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer Full Time Derby/Hybrid (on average 3 days a week in the office) What you will be doing: As the Verification and Validation Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer you will ensure the business and people's needs are met and they are ready for the process changes. Elicit, document and maintain customer requirements from customer needs throughout the solution's life cycle, i.e. for design, make, operation, maintenance, repair and de-commissioning. Develop potential concepts and use systems engineering methods to determine the best concept. Communicate the results. Risk/Safety: use RRMS processes to assess and mitigate risks. Develop potential system definitions (solutions) and use systems engineering methods to determine the best solution using the internal and external supply chain. Use Technical Councils and High-Spots to conduct design reviews to ensure proper alignment of customer requirements and proposed design. Verify: create, execute and maintain a verification plan for the system and provide substantiating evidence and reports. Deploy: coordinate proper systems implementations and modifications to meet the objectives of the customer including process changes, documentation (manuals and calibration procedures) and training. Operate: work with Test Execution, Test Facility and Equipment and Measurement Engineers to configure and maintain product and component testing arrangements. Support / Maintain: set-up and execute system health monitoring and maintenance schedules. Execute system maintenance activities. Support / Repair: investigates and troubleshoots systems problems impacting test activities and co-ordinate repair activities to bring the system back into serviceable condition. Improve: monitor system obsolescence and provide input to systems improvement plans using proper program management techniques. Experience in relevant domain is preferred but not essential. Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
