WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR are seeking a talented and experienced Verification and Validation (V&V) Lead Engineer to join our team to ensure the optimal user experience (UX) for our innovative welcome access and leave systems across various vehicle platforms and architectures.
This role will be integral in defining, leading, and executing the verification and validation processes, ensuring the seamless integration of user experiences across the vehicle lifecycle. The successful candidate will help create and implement a robust framework for verifying and validating user interactions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and user satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
V&V Leadership: Lead the development, execution, and improvement of verification and validation strategies for Welcome Access and Leave user experience (UX), ensuring seamless operation across different platforms and architectures. Process Development: Design, implement, and maintain structured processes for V&V that focus on user interaction with the vehicle, ensuring thorough test coverage, repeatability, and traceability for all vehicle architectures and platforms. Test Design & Execution: Develop test cases and scenarios based on user requirements, functional specifications, and platform/architecture characteristics. Lead testing activities, from manual testing to automated validation across different environments. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in V&V practices, processes, and methodologies. Identify areas of opportunity to enhance the effectiveness of the V&V approach, with a focus on optimizing user experience testing and validation efficiency. Metrics & Reporting: Collect and analyse data from validation activities to provide clear, actionable insights and performance reports. Communicate test results, issues, and risks to stakeholders at all levels. As well as act as the lead point of contact for any V&V-related issues, working with engineering teams to diagnose, report, and resolve system bugs or failures in the user experience functionality.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Extensive experience in V&V engineering, specifically focused on features/ user experience in automotive or similar industries. Proven track record in leading UX verification and validation processes, particularly for embedded systems or connected vehicle platforms. Strong understanding of automotive systems, user interfaces, and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design principles. Expertise in developing and executing V&V strategies and processes. Proficient in analysing and interpreting test data to improve UX performance and experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Jenkins, TestRail, JIRA).
