Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Required Experience: Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in a high-quality welding role.
  • Technical Proficiency: A strong foundation in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications is essential.
  • Practical Skills: Experience in pipe fitting and fabrication skills (such as development, rolling, pressing, marking out, drilling, punching) will be highly advantageous.
  • Quality Assurance Focus: A proven track record of producing welding work that consistently meets stringent quality requirements, specifications, and NDT acceptance criteria is paramount. Familiarity with NDT processes is a significant asset.
  • Formal Qualifications: A time-served apprenticeship in welding/fabrication (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and holding or having previously held BS EN ISO 9606 welder qualifications are highly desirable.
