• Technical Proficiency: The role requires thorough visual weld inspection, shop floor surveillance, and pre-weld checks. Familiarity with internal acceptance criteria, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and relevant industry standards like ISO 5817 / ASME IX is crucial.
• Inspection Skills: Experience with Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) equipment and borescopes will be highly advantageous.

• Security Clearance: To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, holding a Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats is a requirement. Rolls-Royce will support you in obtaining this if you do not already possess it.
• Nationality Requirement: Due to the sensitive nature of the work and protection of certain assets, UK nationality is required. Dual nationals will undergo additional scrutiny.
• Certifications: While not always mandatory, holding a current CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2 in Visual Testing is preferred. Candidates willing to work towards these qualifications may also be considered.
• Practical Experience: Practical welding experience (manual and/or mechanized) and an awareness of Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Qualifications (WQ) are desirable.
