The Role
A Your Money Team Assistant is a key part of the Revenues and Benefits team helping to deliver a first-class service to the residents of the East Riding.
Our service must be delivered in a timely manner to those facing personal crisis by a mixture of accessible channels – telephone, email/letter or in person (their home or Customer Service Centre).
An opportunity has arisen to join the team. You will be dealing with the day-to-day administration work which supports the Your Money Advisors.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate would ideally have knowledge of welfare benefits, housing rent and council tax liability, though full training will be given.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail is crucial and to be able to meet targets. You must be enthusiastic, efficient, and capable of working on your own initiative as well as forming an integral part of a hard-working team. Duties include taking customer queries on the telephone, helping arrange calls or visits and visit schedules, maintaining databases accurately and dealing with housing benefit and council tax support issues.
You will need to be supportive and empathetic with our customers. You must have the ability to stay calm in difficult situations and work well under pressure. Excellent communication skills and the need to maintain confidentiality is a requirement.
A full working knowledge of IT applications including Microsoft Office.
