Job Description: Activity Coordinator The Donnington Care Home, Wantage Road, Donnington, Newbury RG14 3BE CQC rating: Good Carehome.co.uk rating: 9.7/10 Salary £12.80 - £13.80 Permanent contract 8 hours per week The Donnington in Newbury focuses on round-the-clock support for a wide range of needs. Care provision includes nursing or residential care, convalescence and respite, as well as palliative care support and help for adults with Parkinson. Residents can stay for a week, a month or longer– however long residents or loved ones need support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving families complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room that can be booked up to six months in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too. With scenic countryside surroundings, this converted red-brick Victorian house offers comfortable social environments, light and airy lounges, en-suite bedrooms and on-site therapies. The chef works hard to achieve a menu that pleases each resident, with all food home-cooked and nutritionally balanced. Many activities and fulfilling pastimes are enjoyed within the house, including art classes and musical recitals, with summer fetes and other annual events adding further to home life. From meditation to wellbeing classes, they boost residents’ spirits and well-being. You’ll help us make health happen by: Running morning and afternoon activity sessions. Producing and updating an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget Organising birthday surprises for our residents Liaising with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out/events at the home Organising one to ones with our residents, this might involve reminiscing tools, puzzles, reading or just a cup of tea and a chat Supporting the home with their social media channels as required Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, who can also manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively managing priorities as they arise.
