For existing employees of the University of Nottingham, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the newly formed Academic Quality Assurance team within Governance and Assurance. This pivotal role is central to upholding the University's commitment to maintaining exceptional quality and standards across all levels of academic provision and at every campus. Based at University Park in the distinguished Coates Building, this position offers a chance to contribute significantly to the University's operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:

In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in supporting the team's objectives on a daily basis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as Secretary: You will act as the formal secretary for both the Quality and Standards Committee and the newly established Quality and Standards Network, ensuring smooth operation and efficient communication.
  • Data Presentation & Analysis: Leverage your skills with Tableau to present insightful data that underpins critical Annual Programme Reviews (APR) and Periodic Programme Reviews (PPRs), providing valuable evidence for strategic decisions.
  • Internal Quality Reviews: Take a lead in coordinating Internal Quality Reviews, collaborating closely with the Institute for Professional and Workbased Learning to ensure their successful delivery.
  • Event and Financial Management: Play a role in organising team events and managing associated finances, contributing to the team's overall effectiveness.

What We're Looking For:

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in both independent work and collaborative team environments. We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Organised and Proactive: Possessing strong organisational skills and a knack for effective planning.
  • Data-Oriented: Enjoying the challenge of working with data and extracting meaningful insights.
  • Relationship Builders: Capable of developing and nurturing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Qualified: Educated to A level standard, or have substantial relevant work experience, ideally within Higher Education.

Key Advantages for Your Career Path:

Joining the Academic Quality Assurance team offers several significant advantages for your professional development:

  • Impactful Contribution: You will be at the forefront of ensuring academic excellence, directly contributing to the University's reputation and student experience.
  • Skill Development: This role provides excellent opportunities to hone your skills in data analysis and presentation using industry-standard tools like Tableau, as well as enhancing your administrative and coordination capabilities.
  • Exposure to Strategic Processes: Gain valuable insights into the University's quality assurance frameworks and the strategic review processes that shape academic programmes.
  • Networking Opportunities: Build a strong network of contacts across various departments and committees within the University.
  • Hybrid Working: The University offers a flexible hybrid working model. While team days are currently on campus an average of two days per week (with Tuesdays designated as the current team day), this flexibility allows for a better work-life balance.
