Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Technical Expertise: A strong foundation in Engineering or Science disciplines is essential. Theoretical and operational knowledge of Pressure Water Reactors (PWR) and naval nuclear steam raising plant (NSRP) systems and equipment is highly valued. Experience as a Nuclear Submarine Engineering Watchkeeper is a significant advantage.
  • Training and Development Acumen: The ability to design, develop, and deliver technical training solutions is central to this role. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., in the Lifelong Learning Sector) or demonstrable equivalent experience supported by a professional portfolio is required.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You must be a confident communicator with excellent presentation skills and a genuine passion for training and developing others. The ability to build rapport and foster understanding across diverse audiences is key.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: This role requires strong teamwork capabilities and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively, especially during busy periods. You'll need to be a proactive individual who can support the development of a team plan and operate within established processes.
  • Security Clearance and Nationality: Please note that to work within the Rolls-Royce Submarines business, you will need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance. Rolls-Royce will support this application if you do not currently possess it. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, applications are restricted to UK nationals or, in approved cases, dual nationals.
  • Mobility: While primarily based in Raynesway, Derby, this role may involve periodic travel to other UK sites for training delivery, potentially including overnight stays. A Full UK Driving Licence is required.
