Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city. Our story began in the 1860s as an Anglican teacher training college for women, which makes us one of the oldest Higher Education Institutions in the UK. Since then, we've grown, adapted, and modernised to become the thriving university we are today. We're still experts in teaching and education, but we've now got a wider portfolio of exciting degree courses than ever before. We currently offer courses in a wide range of subjects, from Undergraduate Degree level to PhD, and much more in between.
The Lincolnshire Open Research and Innovation Centre at BGU is seeking a pool of researchers to provide research and data-related support to businesses, charities, and other organisations across Greater Lincolnshire and beyond.
Building on the success of previous externally funded projects, post holders will be responsible for delivering meaningful support to organisations which contributes to both internal and external targets and KPIs.
Post holders will engage with organisations to support them to identify and understand their research and data needs, identify a suitable course of action, and carry out research, data analysis and business support activities with a view to driving business growth and innovation.
The nature of the support to be provided to organisations is diverse but has a core focus on evaluation, research and data analysis needs, and may include desk-top research, use of Open Data sets, primary and secondary data analysis, market research, conducting research with businesses and their stakeholders, and data strategy support.
Post holders will be required to promote the support on offer via LORIC and the wider BGU Business and Community Engagement Team and their various funded programmes to businesses and organisations through attendance at networking events, and the delivery of presentations and workshops, as well as via advertising channels.
