Job title: Container Surveyor (Nights) Location: Southampton (SO15 1AW) Position Type: Permanent, full-time Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Why join us? The role With a new state of art infrastructure and recent investment in VBS and technology we are looking for the right individual to support our Maintenance & Repair team in Southampton. As a Container Surveyor you will be responsible for surveying containers that are received in damaged condition, reposition units under control of the M&R Department and place them to the correct area safely. You will be using bespoke technology to guide you through the day, all while sharing our culture and belief of health and safety being the number one priority. Key responsibilities Complete estimates ensuring all information is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Prepare containers for customer bookings. Training, using the in-house systems to survey & estimate for damage Sweeping out of containers Working effectively and safely alongside M&R Container Surveyor Supervisor and Yard staff to ensure service levels are maintained as per company expectations. Maintain H&S standards. About you Deep understanding of the importance of health and safety and be committed to always upholding a safe approach to all tasks. Full UK driving licence. "Can do" attitude. It great, but not required, if you: Have previous container industry experience. Have experience in a counterbalance forklift. About us At the core of all we do are our employees.
