The School of Medicine is looking to recruit an enthusiastic administrative assistant to join our undergraduate team in the Medical Education Centre at the Royal Derby Hospital Medical School site. This exciting opportunity will provide solid administrative support for the medical programmes administration.
The successful candidate will support the administration for the Foundation Programme, Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) and the Medical Physiology and Therapeutics (MPT) programmes at Derby. You will liaise and communicate with our programme leads and provide administrative support for our medical programmes based at Derby. You will be involved in the day-to-day upkeep of the team administration system for managing all processes and paperwork, this will include electronic folder management and paper/ version control. You will support the other members of the team with student communications and manage the shared inbox.
You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks with accuracy and a high attention to detail despite competing priorities and challenging deadlines. You should be educated to GCSE level to include English and Maths (or equivalent) or have significant work experience in a similar role or have relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ2/3 administration, City & Guild) or equivalent, plus some experience in a relevant role.
We will provide full training on all aspects of course administration for the successful candidate.
The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 24 months. Working hours are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
