Aon is recruiting an experienced Insurance Lawyer to sit in the Coverage and Insurable Risk Team in the Global Broking Centre in London.

The successful candidate will be part of a team which is currently made up of seven coverage specialists, most of whom are qualified insurance lawyers.

 

As a guide, Aon is seeking someone who has substantial experience in the field of insurance law, whether contentious or transactional.  Applicants should be at least senior associate/counsel level in a law firm, a senior junior barrister or equivalent from a corporate legal or wordings team.

It will be essential for the candidate to have significant experience of interpreting insurance policy wordings and the ability to draft clear policy language.  Experience of insurance product design and drafting will be very helpful.

 

This is a Hybrid role that will involve some office and home-based working.  It could be part-time or full-time.

What the day will look like

 

In this wide, varied and exciting role, you'll support the specialist Global Broking teams by:

Providing specialist input on all matters relating to the terms of the insurance cover placed for Aon’s clientsAdvising clients and network offices on terms of coverNegotiating with underwriters on individual placementsDrafting and negotiating the terms of the cover provided under Aon facilitiesAssisting in the design and implementation of new insurance productsDeveloping Aon’s stance on market developments and interacting with market bodies such as Lloyd’s, the LMA, LIIBA and BIBA;Coordinating with coverage specialists around the Aon network to ensure an Aon United approach;Cooperating with the Claims team on significant coverage issues arising in active claimsRemaining up to date with all legal and regulatory developments impacting insurance coverage and the context within which it is sold and ensuring that the broking teams are supported accordingly.
