Are you passionate about higher education and eager to make a meaningful impact on the future of students and the community? The University is seeking new Governors to support and shape the strategic direction of this dynamic, forward-thinking institution.

About the role 

As a Governor, you will work alongside a committed team of professionals from diverse sectors, contributing to the University's mission of excellence, innovation, and inclusion. You will be part of a supportive environment led by the Vice-Chancellor, and have opportunities to engage directly with students, staff, and stakeholders. The role of Governor is not remunerated.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborating with fellow Governors to guide the University’s strategic ambitions.Joining one of the following committees: Finance, Development & Resources; Audit & Risk; People & Remuneration; or Academic Assurance.Contribute to discussions on educational and financial sustainability, risk management, and governance effectiveness.

Experience in one or more the following areas would be highly valued: 

Higher Education: Experience in university-level education and understanding of the UK higher education landscape.International: Knowledge of global education systems and international partnerships.Digital: Experience in digital transformation within education.Commercial: Understanding of business initiatives in the education sector.Entrepreneurial: Proactive mindset with the ability to foster innovation and new ventures.
