Insurance Manager – Captive Insurance (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

What the day will look like
Reporting to the Client Service Director, you will be part of an innovative team and take a leading role in managing captive insurance companies. You will have responsibility for underwriting and claims across specific lines of business, as well as extensive interaction with clients and other stakeholders. The role may also involve occasional travel to the UK and potentially further afield.
Key responsibilities include
Underwriting
Take ownership of designated lines of business and manage the renewals process Prepare (re)insurance documentation and handle renewal negotiations Report to the Board, insurance committee and other stakeholders as required Field technical questions on policy coverage Calculate insurance premiumsClaims
Manage large and/or complex claims for allocated lines of business Work directly with external consultants and advisers to settle such claims Handle claims data for financial reporting, actuarial and renewal purposesRelationship Management & Governance**
Manage timely communications with the Insured, brokers, and a range of third-party service providers Attend Board, committee, and other meetings as required by the Insured Take the lead role on insurance discussions with the Insured Manage Board meeting packs for your client portfolio Produce minutes of Board and committee meetings

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Relevant professional insurance qualification (ideally at least Dip CII), or progress towards this Insurance experience with a captive manager, insurance company, or broker, with a track record of delivering excellent client service Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and present effectively to Boards and senior stakeholders
