Job at University of Greenwich in Greater London, SE10

Background

The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in allied healthcare, nursing and midwifery professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provision including a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development (ILD) brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues, and has been instrumental in our recent success in the 2021 REF.

The Post

The post holder/s will work with our Clinical Simulation Fellows, programme teams and technical staff to deliver high-quality, contemporary clinical skills and simulation education. You will work across our NMC and HCPC registered programmes delivering the skills and simulation curricula to ensure our learners meet their programme outcomes, including:

•    Clinical skills teaching across nursing, midwifery and allied health programmes

•    Delivering simulation sessions with actors and patient simulators

You will also have the opportunity to participate in research and knowledge exchange activities coordinated by the ILD. You will be supported to develop your academic career through mentorship from experienced academic staff.

The Person

We are seeking enthusiastic, practice-focused registered healthcare professionals who are looking to transition into, or further develop, their career in higher education. Applicants may have developed teaching and assessing skills through a clinical education/mentorship/practice assessor role or equivalent. You will play a key role in facilitating clinical skills and simulation-based education across our healthcare provision. We are happy to consider part-time working and/or secondments.

If you would like an informal discussion about this post, including how it could complement your current clinical or academic role, we would be delighted to hear from you.
