Join us as a Legal Controls and Controls Governance. As part of the Legal Risk, Governance, and Control (LRGC) team within Barclays' Chief Controls Office (CCO) and Office of Legal Obligations (OLO), this role focuses on enhancing legal risk management and governance. Youll help ensure legal risk is treated as a principal risk and support the adequacy review of legal controls across the firm

Key skills required for this role include:

Risk & Controls background and knowledge of controls Framework (preferably Barclays FM)Involvement in a Large-Scale bank wide projects or large-scale FS projectsDrafting skills within a Legal capacity or policies and standards / procedures

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and consult on the banks internal controls framework and supporting policies and standards across the organisation, ensuring it is robust, effective, and aligned to the banks overall strategy and risk appetite.

Accountabilities

Identification and analysis of emerging and evolving risks across functions to understand their potential impact, and likelihood.Communication of the purpose, structure, and importance of the control framework to all relevant stakeholders, including senior management and audit.Support to the development and implementation of the bank's internal controls framework and principles tailored to the banks specific needs and risk profile including design, monitoring, and reporting initiatives.Monitoring and maintenance of the control's frameworks, to ensure compliance and adjust and update as internal and external requirements change.Embedment of the control framework across the bank through cross collaboration, training sessions and awareness campaigns which fosters a culture of knowledge sharing and improvement in risk management and the importance of internal control effectiveness.

'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
