This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of a well-invested, fast-paced facility.

The Role and Your Impact:

As an M&E Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining essential services across the Aylesbury site. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Providing rapid and effective corrective maintenance for plant equipment failures and breakdowns.
  • Working across a diverse range of critical systems including:
    • Industrial steam boilers
    • Waste heat boilers
    • Wastewater treatment plants
    • Refrigeration plants
    • Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) plants
    • Hot & cold water systems

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and challenge existing processes.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) compliance, including Legionella, fire safety, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Authorising permits and overseeing work to guarantee safe and controlled execution.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

This role offers a compelling package and significant benefits for ambitious individuals:

  • Attractive Remuneration: A competitive salary structure that includes a base salary, a significant shift allowance, and opportunities for overtime pay.
  • Exceptional Work-Life Balance: A structured 28-day shift pattern designed for a healthy work-life balance. This includes a guaranteed two weekends off per month, alternating between 7 days of shifts, 7 nights, and a generous 14 days off. This pattern is similar to a highly sought-after Panama shift.
  • Generous Leave Entitlements: Start with 24 days of annual holiday, with the flexibility to purchase up to an additional 5 days through a dedicated benefits platform.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package:
    • Annual pay reviews to ensure your compensation keeps pace with your contributions.
    • An employer pension scheme with Arla matching contributions up to 6% (a total of 12% contributory).
    • Four times your annual salary life assurance cover for peace of mind.
    • Access to a flexible benefits scheme, including a reward gateway with discounts from various retailers.
  • Career Growth and Development: Arla is committed to your professional advancement. You will benefit from strong career development pathways and comprehensive training opportunities, both internally and externally. This includes further training to support your career progression.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

To thrive in this role and make the most of the opportunities at Arla, consider the following:

  • Qualifications and Experience: While not strictly mandatory, holding a Level 3 NVQ or a recognised engineering qualification will be highly advantageous. Demonstrable experience in both reactive and planned preventative maintenance within a regulated environment is essential.
  • Essential Skills: A positive and resilient approach to problem-solving is key. Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to continuous improvement will be highly valued.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems or wastewater treatment plants is preferred but not essential. If you have this experience, you will have a strong foundational understanding.
