About the Opportunity:

As a Manufacturing Technician – Modern Oral, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Product Development Teams by operating machinery to produce essential samples and prototypes. Your direct impact will be in ensuring the timely and quality-assured delivery of these critical components, which are vital for advancing our innovative product pipeline.

Key Responsibilities & Your Contribution:

This role offers a hands-on and multifaceted experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining advanced machinery for prototype sample manufacturing.
  • Ensuring machinery is correctly set up, calibrated, and in optimal operational condition.
  • Managing and requesting necessary materials in collaboration with the Supply Chain Team.
  • Conducting rigorous in-process quality control activities to meet project specifications.
  • Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for machine maintenance and operation.
  • Developing a deep understanding of manufacturing equipment within the Innovation Development Center.
  • Reporting on machine performance and actively participating in Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing administrative support for projects and contributing to data processing and analysis.

What We're Looking For in You:

To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills:

  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in manufacturing environments such as tobacco, food, light industrial, or electrical engineering. Proficiency in manufacturing and engineering techniques is essential.
  • Technical Acumen: A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, principles, and techniques within innovation development.
  • Flexibility & Agility: The ability to work flexibly, including unsociable hours and shifts when required, to meet program targets. You'll need physical agility, good coordination, and the ability to handle heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
  • Problem-Solving: A calm and clear-thinking approach to acting under pressure, with the ability to take guidance and instruction effectively.
  • Teamwork & Independence: A strong team-oriented mindset coupled with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Qualifications: A relevant technical qualification, such as a Diploma or Apprenticeship in Engineering or an equivalent field.
