Job Title: PC EU Deo R&D Director Location: Leeds Office and R&D Work-Level: WL3X JOB PURPOSE The PC6 EU BU is a strategic priority for Unilever and PC and has a transformational role to play to deliver top and bottom line growth. And within that Deodorants is key with its market leading brands of Axe/ Lynx, Rexona / Sure, Dove and Dove Men + Care. A category where we continuously innovate to benefit our consumers and the planet. This role is for the Director accountable for all R&D activities for the Deodorant category in PC6 Eu. The Director will work closely with BG R&D to set the programme for Eu, and with Marketing and Supply Chain to deliver the programme. The Director will lead a team of around 12 FTE based in Leeds. RESPONSIBILITIES Main Accountabilities: Innovation: Business partnering Marketing Leaders, and working in close cross functional teams with SC, Procurement, Customer Dev, CMI etc, to define and deliver the 8-12 Quarter Innovation plans for the PC6 BU. Working closely with the Deo BG R&D team to ensure that the BU local consumer understanding and market context are understood and built into the technology and innovation solutions provided by the BG R&D team. Lead the excellent execution of the agreed Innovation Bring to life our products through relevant consumer and trade engagement activities. Savings/Resilience: Delivering the R&D elements of the 5S programme for Deodorants in year and working with Deo BG R&D to ensure a strong funnel for future years. Working with SC and Procurement to proactively build supply resilience and reactively support supply issues. Sustainability: Working with BG R&D and the BU LT, drive progress on Sustainability and ensure the BU delivers our part of Unilever Sustainability agenda. Safety/Compliance: Working with colleagues in SEAC and Regulatory, ensure all required safety, legal and compliance activities are in place for our products. Building a proactive plan for future regulatory or compliance requirements into EU PC6 plans to ensure efficient use of resources and minimising impact to the business. People Management/Talent Development: Build a team of Technology and Category experts through relevant skills and training underpinned by culture shift. ALL ABOUT YOU Extensive experience in both a Design/Deploy R&D role preferably with some Deo Category experience. Proven experience of leading teams for high performance across Categories and Geographies. Proven track record in business partnering for impact across functions (Marketing, CMI, Supply Chain). Knowledge and experience of the regulatory and compliance requirements in Europe. Proven experience of working closely and collaboratively with SC to deliver top and bottom-line growth. Knowledge and understanding of the European PC manufacturing base and its important role in delivering the BU R&D program.
