Discover Your Future in Style: A Personal Stylist Opportunity at John Lewis & Partners

Are you passionate about fashion and possess a natural talent for helping others discover their personal style? This Personal Stylist role within the dedicated Style Studio at John Lewis & Partners in Solihull presents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of retail innovation and customer experience. This position is more than just a job; it's an invitation to become a valued Partner in the UK's largest employee-owned business, contributing to a brand synonymous with quality, service, and trust.

What This Role Offers:

  • Be a Fashion Ambassador: You'll be instrumental in shaping customer perceptions and driving brand ambition through inspiring styling consultations, engaging style talks, and real-time fashion advice. Your expertise will directly influence customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Cultivate Lasting Relationships: This role is all about creating memorable, personalized experiences. By understanding customer needs and desires, you'll help them find pieces they'll love, fostering repeat business and building a strong personal client base.
  • Creative Expression & Sales Growth: Beyond consultations, you'll have opportunities to create "fashion theatre" on the shop floor, leveraging social media and your creative flair to attract customers and maximize sales and profit.
  • Develop Your Expertise: While a passion for fashion is essential, John Lewis & Partners is committed to your growth. They provide comprehensive training, including color analysis and body shape profiling, ensuring you have all the tools to excel.
  • The Benefits of Partnership: As a Partner, you're more than an employee; you're a co-owner. This unique model means you share in the rewards and successes of the business, fostering a sense of belonging and collective responsibility.
  • Competitive Compensation & Premium Hours: The role offers a competitive annual salary range of £26,300.00 - £32,500.00. Additionally, for those joining from October 5th (and existing Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements), time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract a Night Premium of £4.00 per hour, adding a valuable bonus to your earnings.
  • Flexible Working & Work-Life Balance: John Lewis & Partners understands the importance of work-life balance and supports flexible working arrangements, including flexible or compressed hours, job sharing, or shorter contracts where feasible.

Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Passion for Fashion is Paramount: A genuine love for fashion, styling, and trends is the bedrock of this role. Your enthusiasm will be infectious and will drive your success.
  • Exceptional Customer Service is Key: The ability to build rapport, understand individual needs, and deliver outstanding service is crucial. You'll be the face of the brand for many customers.
  • Organizational Prowess: Managing your own appointment diary and efficiently navigating a diverse range of brands requires excellent organizational skills.
  • Embrace the Partnership Model: Understand and appreciate the unique benefits and responsibilities of being an employee-owned Partner. This ownership culture is central to the John Lewis & Partners ethos.
  • Potential for Vetting: Be aware that some roles may be subject to pre-employment vetting, which could include DBS checks. Prompt completion of any required documentation will help avoid delays in the recruitment process.
  • Adaptability in Hours: The role requires varied working hours between 08:55 - 20:10, Monday to Friday, with alternate weekend working. Flexibility in your availability will be important.

This Personal Stylist position offers a dynamic and rewarding career path for individuals who are passionate about fashion, thrive on delivering exceptional customer experiences, and are eager to be part of a unique and supportive employee-owned organization. If you're ready to blend your fashion expertise with a commitment to customer delight, this could be your next significant career step.
