Do you have experience in translating research to different audiences, for example policymakers or policy practitioners or are you currently working in a policy making organisation at a local, regional or national level?
We are offering exciting opportunities to work with our researchers at the University of Bath as Policy Impact Specialists. These roles will help our researchers to identify and engage with relevant policy makers and decision-influencing organisations in order to deliver impact.
We are seeking three roles, each focused on one of our three strategic themes: Health, AI & Digital, and Sustainability for Net Zero.
We expect the role will provide support in the following ways:
Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers and policy makers Stakeholder mapping to identify the appropriate audiences (who), the most effective approaches to engagement (how) and opportunities to engage (when).Horizon scanning for opportunities for engagement, for research to be utilised (such as calls for evidence) and helping to prepare researchers to take advantage of these.Attending events to help promote and showcase research from the University of Bath and help connect the right people to the right research insights.You will be able to:
Engage with a wide range of research, particularly interdisciplinary research.Build effective working relationships within and across organisational boundaries.Share your experience of developing outputs from research that are effective means of engaging with intended audiences. For example, developing toolkits, infographics, blogs, newspaper articles and utilising other communication tools such as social mediaDemonstrate good level of expertise, knowledge and understanding of one of the policy areas of interest, these are:HealthAI and DigitalSustainability Demonstrate a good level of knowledge and expertise in evidencing policy impact.You will be based in the Research Excellence and Impact team and will be supported by the Head of Policy Programmes and Communication in the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and the Head of Public Affairs in our Communications Team. You will be expected to collaborate with and work with researchers and research enablers/professional services across the University.
