SSE, a leading energy company committed to a net-zero future, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their vibrant Energy Markets (EM) team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the commercial success of a company investing heavily in a cleaner, more secure energy landscape.

About the Role: A Crucial Link in the Value Chain

As a Product Analyst within SSE's Energy Markets division, you will be at the forefront of driving product delivery. Your core responsibilities will involve deep analysis, meticulous requirement gathering, and identifying opportunities for process optimisation. You'll be working in a collaborative, agile environment, partnering closely with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and exceptional outcomes. This role demands a blend of analytical prowess, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of the energy industry's intricacies.

Key Responsibilities and Growth Opportunities:

  • Shape Product Direction: Lead requirement gathering sessions and translate these into clear, actionable plans, actively participating in sprint planning.
  • Agile Development Champion: Develop and maintain essential project documentation, including user stories and product backlogs, within an agile framework.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, and diverse teams to prioritise tasks, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Bridge the Gap: Act as a vital liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on requirements and delivery objectives.
  • Deepen Energy Market Knowledge: Continuously expand your understanding of SSE's various business units, key processes, and the underlying technical architecture to support informed decision-making.

What You'll Bring: Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in technical product analysis, with a strong command of various requirement gathering methodologies, including agile.
  • Proficiency in Business Process Mapping.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile software development practices (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to effectively run agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, show and tells) using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of successful collaboration across business and technical domains.
  • A solid understanding of the energy sector, including current market trends and key business drivers.
  • Specific experience with trading practices within the energy industry would be a significant advantage.

Why SSE? A Career with Purpose and Progression

  • Impactful Work: Be part of a company actively shaping a net-zero future, investing £10 million daily in homegrown energy solutions.
  • Competitive Remuneration: A strong salary range of £49,004 - £57,728, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
  • Flexible Working: Embrace a "Flexible First" approach with permanent, full-time opportunities in Perth, Glasgow, or Edinburgh, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Holistic Benefits: Access a wide array of benefits including private healthcare discounts, gym memberships, free online GP services, 24/7 counselling, interest-free loans for technology and season tickets, and the Cycle to Work scheme.
