The Opportunity: Shape the Future of Voyage Estimation

As a Product Manager within the Calc team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the future development of our vital voyage estimation tool, Calc. This tool is instrumental to our brokers across multiple divisions. Your primary focus will be on building strong relationships with stakeholders to deeply understand customer needs. You'll then collaborate seamlessly with our product and engineering teams to ensure these needs translate into solutions that meet our business goals and vision.

This role is central to fostering a culture of true customer-led product design, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance our product suite. You will be responsible for providing expert product management and analysis, addressing business and systems requirements for our existing Calc platform. This may involve application support, testing, and training on solutions developed both internally and externally.

What You Will Be Doing: A Glimpse into Your Impact

  • Strategic Vision: Partner with key stakeholders to define and execute the strategy, vision, and roadmap for the growth and global scaling of our Calc product.
  • Roadmap Mastery: Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and Tech Lead to determine and maintain a clear and effective product delivery roadmap.
  • Product Ownership: Step into Product Owner responsibilities when needed, driving the product forward with energy and expertise.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the product and platform, tracking and reviewing key metrics to ensure successful delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders, analyzing information needs and functional requirements. You'll deliver essential artifacts such as user stories, change requests, and screen designs.
  • Requirement Management: Meticulously manage requirements throughout their refinement, ensuring the development team receives clear and sufficient information for timely delivery of fit-for-purpose features.
  • Bridge Builder: Act as the crucial conduit between the customer community and the software development team, facilitating direct dialogue where appropriate.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become the go-to expert within the product's domain, providing guidance and making informed decisions.
  • Workload Management: Effectively manage and prioritize your own workload, providing regular and transparent status updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Plan and participate in system testing and user training to ensure a high-quality user experience.
  • Multitasking Prowess: Competently handle multiple features concurrently.
  • Documentation Leadership: Guide the creation and updating of support documentation, including user help guides and manuals.

  • Maritime Domain Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in product development for shipping/maritime solutions.
  • Business Analysis Acumen: Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst covering the full project lifecycle.
  • Product Craftsmanship: A genuine passion for creating exceptional products through continuous experimentation, iteration, and optimization.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with meticulous attention to detail in both analysis and written work.
  • Agile Proficiency: A solid understanding of agile product development best practices.
  • Calculation Model Experience (Bonus): Experience with calculation models would be a significant advantage.
  • Strong Business Acumen: A keen understanding of business principles and the ability to identify and leverage features across a platform, articulating the business value of changes.
