Job Description Project Lead - Submarines Full Time Derby, Raynesway Why Rolls-Royce? We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Lead, working in the SSN AUKUS (SSNA) programme. On March 13, 2023, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom, and President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. of the United States announced an arrangement for Australia to acquire a conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarine (SSN) capability through the Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) enhanced security partnership. The combination of United Kingdom submarine design and advanced United States technology is intended to deliver a best-in-class submarine that meets Australia long-term defence needs while bolstering trilateral industrial cooperation. SSNA will be the future attack submarine for both Australia and the United Kingdom. Australia and the United Kingdom intend to start building SSNA in their domestic shipyards before the end of this decade. The United Kingdom intends to deliver its first SSNA to the UK Royal Navy in the late 2030s. What youâll be doing: Youâll be focused on collaborative working within a dynamic team, ensuring the effective deployment of programme management and resulting delivery against requirements. You will be working alongside technical teams, both within Submarines and our Industrial Partners, to define work scope, create plans of work and execute, managing risk and opportunities and ensuring a cross functional team deliver against the requirements set by the programme using the business processes available. Enable delivery through effective integrated working and project management. Key interface across all work scope stakeholders, using IPPR to drive the work in the programme. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of project delivery plans in P6 Primavera planning software.Deliver to cost, specification and time for defined packages of work. Integrate packages of work led by others, ensuring the overall delivery meets programme outcome requirements. Leading weekly/monthly planning updates and IPT meetings - responsible for objective assessment of project status/performance updates including; progress, forecast, recovery actions Critical path and schedule variance analysis for project performance measurement. Key contributor to the various performance reviews with an understanding of key performance metrics and a proactive approach to recovery planning. Provide input to financial management, including monthly monitoring, Quarterly Forecasts, budgets, estimates to complete and invoicing. Maintain, develop & communicate the plan in the designated planning tool sets (both P6 and SAP) including: contract deliverable milestones; internal milestones; invoicing and sales milestones including stage payments Who we are looking for: At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. Attained APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent; or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge. Associate member of Association of Project Management (APM), working towards full MAPM.
