This position offers a competitive salary, with Research Assistant roles ranging from £33,002 to £34,610 per annum and Research Associate roles from £35,608 to £37,694 per annum. Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
- Strong research acumen: Demonstrated research interests and skills aligned with place-based sustainability research and the transition to low-carbon living.
- Methodological expertise: Experience in conducting field-based research using a variety of relevant methods, including participatory action research (PAR).
- Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local government, businesses, and community groups.
- Organizational and project management skills: Excellent ability to manage projects, organize data, and produce high-quality research outputs to deadlines.
- Dissemination skills: Experience in writing for publication, with a strong track record of producing internationally recognized research outputs. Knowledge of the North East of England region is also advantageous.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset: A commitment to teamwork, a positive attitude, and an interest in seeking external funding to support research.
For appointment as a Research Associate, a PhD in a relevant social science discipline is required. For the Research Assistant grade, a Degree and/or Masters in a relevant social science discipline is expected.
