Research Projects Manager (INTERNAL ONLY)

Job at University of Lincoln in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN6

The University of Lincoln’s Post Award Research Office (PARO) sits within the Research, Impact & Culture team, delivering direct support to researchers in the delivery of their externally funded research projects. Working closely with external funding bodies, the academic community and a range of internal and external stakeholders, the PARO plays a vital role in delivering research excellence, safeguarding external income and supporting the University’s civic and strategic mission.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a range of financial compliance-based and operational activities across a number of research projects currently awarded to Lincoln researchers.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for you to refine their project and financial management skill set and to increase your knowledge and experience of the UK research funding landscape.

You will lead the set up and reporting milestones required in line with a range of compliance guidance to assure external funding bodies of our capacity to deliver, building strong and wide-ranging connections with a variety of internal stakeholders. You will gain an insight into the exciting and internationally significant research activity being conducted within the university.

The post requires a confident and proactive leader with strong bid management, financial planning, and project delivery experience.  Exceptional communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to work independently and collaboratively across complex organisational structures.

In return, you’ll join a dynamic, forward-thinking and supportive team driving excellence in research delivery and funding compliance.

In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.

Please note this post is fixed term to cover maternity leave for one year, or until the early return of the post holder.

If you would like further information or an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity, please contact Frances Pearson via [email protected].

Closing Date: 04 Jan 2026

Department: Internal Only Vacancies

Salary: £38,784 pro rata Please note, this post is fixed-term for 12 months and part-time at 30 hours per week.
