Lloyd are seeking to recruit a Senior Manager, Financial Risk (Syndicate Capability Risk. The role is responsible for shaping and delivering assurance over market oversight, providing insight and influence to governance forums, and supporting senior risk leadership in maintaining an effective and forward-looking view of the oversight framework. This role acts as a key authority on PBO assurance and is instrumental in embedding Risk Management approach of proactive influence. You will provide senior leadership and independent second-line assurance over Lloyd Principles Based Oversight (PBO) framework, ensuring first-line oversight activities are effective, well-designed, and operating in line with Lloyd oversight objectives and Oversight Philosophy. Principal Accountabilities Assurance & Oversight Delivery Lead delivery of a multi-year assurance plan covering Principles Based Oversight, aligned to Lloyd risk priorities and Market Oversight Plan. Design and execute thematic reviews of PBO principles and supporting oversight practices. Draft and present formal Risk Opinions for material changes to the Oversight Framework. Provide a formal risk assessment of the annual Market Oversight Plan, including the mapping of key risks (via ORSA and other risk sources) to planned oversight activity Oversee follow-up and tracking of management actions arising from reviews, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and sustainable manner. Governance & Risk Support Support the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Risk in matters relating to Market Oversight Group (MOG) and associated governance committees. Provide a proactive and forward-looking view of matters coming through governance, identifying emerging risks and control themes. Engage actively with items expected to be tabled at committees, ensuring strong risk insight is embedded early. Act as a second-line risk advisor to senior stakeholders on oversight design and effectiveness. Insight Influence & Risk Profile Lead synthesis of assurance findings into clear, senior-level insight on systemic oversight issues and themes. Contribute to development of Lloyd risk profile by identifying market-wide patterns, trends and root causes. Influence the evolution of first-line oversight by providing constructive challenge and evidence-based recommendations. Act as a trusted advisor to oversight leaders, supporting continuous improvement rather than compliance-driven activity. Leadership & Capability Act as a senior leader within the team, helping establish vision, culture, and standards of quality Coach and develop team members, fostering strong judgement, critical thinking and assurance capability. Champion professional standards in assurance, governance and oversight. Help design scalable oversight and assurance approaches as the team matures. Skills Knowledge and Experience Extensive experience in, Risk management, internal audit, assurance or regulatory oversight. Operating model reviews, governance frameworks or control environments experience. Demonstrable experience of Designing and delivering assurance programmes. Experience of Producing senior-level reporting and risk opinions. Track Record of Influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority. Understanding of Financial services risk frameworks and principles-based regulation and supervision models. Experience of Governance and oversight structures. Knowledge of Risk Management Understanding of a principles-based approach experience. Insurance, reinsurance or London Market experience. Enterprise risk or control frameworks experience Regulatory or supervisory environment background Written communication skills; able to articulate complex judgement clearly and concisely. Proven ability to operate independently, prioritise effectively and manage ambiguity. Professional qualification (e.g. actuarial, risk, audit, accounting, legal) or equivalent experience.
