Lloyd are seeking to recruit a Manager, Financial Risk (Syndicate Capability Risk). You will deliver independent second-line assurance over Lloyd Principles Based Oversight framework, providing high-quality reviews, analysis and insight into how first-line oversight activities manage risk and achieve regulatory objectives. The role will support the Senior Manager in delivering the PBO assurance plan, preparing risk opinions, engaging with governance processes, and contributing to capability building across the team Principal Accountabilities Assurance Delivery Lead and deliver assurance reviews of PBO principles, controls and oversight practices. Execute thematic reviews in line with the multi-year assurance plan. Assess oversight design and effectiveness and articulate findings clearly. Support development of formal Risk Opinions on material changes to the Oversight Framework. Track remediation actions and support closure of findings Risk Analysis & Insight Analyse risk to identify patterns, weaknesses and emerging risks in oversight. Contribute to the formal risk assessment of the annual Market Oversight Plan. Draft sections of governance papers, assurance reports and committee materials. Support synthesis of review outcomes into forward-looking risk insight. Stakeholder Engagement Engage professionally with first-line teams and oversight functions. Act as a credible and constructive challenger to oversight owners. Build working relationships across first- and second-line teams. Support the Senior Manager in interactions with governance committees as required. Continuous Improvement Contribute to development of assurance methodology, templates and standards. Support improvements to oversight effectiveness through practical recommendations Promote strong documentation, reporting and quality assurance discipline within the team. Skills Knowledge and Experience Experience in Risk management, internal audit, assurance or regulatory oversight. Experience in Operating model reviews, governance frameworks or control environments. Demonstrable experience of, Designing and delivering assurance programmes. Producing senior-level reporting and risk opinions. Financial services risk frameworks experience. Principles-based regulation and supervision models experience. Track Record within Governance and oversight structures. Insurance, reinsurance or London Market experience. Experience within Regulatory or supervisory environments. Experience of a principles based approach. Written communication skills; able to articulate complex judgement clearly and concisely. Proven ability to operate independently, prioritise effectively and manage ambiguity. Professional qualifications (e.g. actuarial, risk, audit, accounting, legal) or equivalent experience.
