Sustainable Development Officer (Maternity Cover)

The job itself

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the areas of environmental management, climate change, biodiversity, and coastal change management on a maternity cover basis.

As the Sustainable Development Officer, you will be expected to assist with the formulation, delivery, monitoring and review of policies, strategies and plans relating to sustainable development. You should have excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience of representing an organisation or team to a high standard with internal and external stakeholders. The role will involve working on a range of initiatives across the sustainable development team including the delivery of the Council’s Climate Change Strategy and Environmental Management System.

The successful post holder will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have experience in the field of sustainable development, community engagement or another relevant subject area. You will need to thrive in a busy environment and enjoy a challenge.

This post is a maternity cover for 37 hours a week and will sit within the council’s expanding sustainable development team.
