The Plant Quality Team are responsible for the co-ordination of all Plant Quality functions interfacing into the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Launch and Engineering teams.
The Vehicle Evaluation Role is an essential role for the overall success of the Solihull product. In addition to providing inspirational leadership and excellent management for a team of engineers, supervisors and associates, the VEM must have a deep understanding of the primary internal & external quality metrics and be able to communicate these to all levels across the plant/business, but also to drive relentlessly quality issue resolution in a collaborative and highly impactful way.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Represent the voice of the customer and markets to promote accelerated internal improvement to achieve total alignment between external and plant internal indicators. Specifically, map external quality data to internal quality measures to ensure that customer protection is in place for warranty issues. • Champion Quality Proven Standardized Practices within the department and the plant. Ensure the department is operating to standardised inspection. • Chair required quality reviews at any business level and issue relevant meeting minutes. Coordinate agenda setting based off internal and external focus points and ensure response in place from plant technology owners. • Promote and coach the level of problem solving activity in all technologies contributing to Solihull product quality. • Assure full compliance to IPS, MQOS and LQOS requirements for quality and champion lessons learnt and hard to fix into forward model planning.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• Detailed, relevant knowledge and extensive experience of manufacturing processes • Strong technical background with knowledge of product engineering • Experience of leading issue resolution both individually and contributing/leading a cross-functional team. • Expert knowledge of problem solving and quality tools (e.g. six sigma green belt) together with a structured, logical and objective based approach to all aspects of their role. • Experience leading teams and delivering output to high standards. • Successful candidate will have experience in communication and feedback to a range of internal and external stakeholders with strong presentation skills
