Associate Lecturer in Forensic Science

The School of Science and the Environment at the University of Worcester is seeking to appoint enthusiastic Associate lecturers to support teaching and learning in the Department of Biological Sciences, and course development with an emphasis on the Forensic Science courses. The successful candidates will be appointed and offered work when required to cover absences or specialist topic that cannot be covered by the present staff. 

The post holder will be expected to contribute to and deliver an outstanding learning experience for the School’s undergraduate taught programmes. We are particularly interested in Forensic Science practitioners with experience of Forensic Chemistry, Toxicology, Anthropology, Archaeology, or Crime scene investigation. The successful candidate are likely to hold a master or Phd and will have experience within a Forensic science field. They are also likely to have some teaching or training experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in Forensic Science.Assist in developing new undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Develop and update course materials, ensuring they are current and relevant.Supervise and mentor undergraduate students.Participate in departmental administration and curriculum development.Contribute to the enhancement of the student experience through innovative teaching practices.

The forensic course, which is made up of practitioners and ex-practitioners, has a number of state of the art pieces of analytical equipment (ffTA, etc), together with a crime scene house, Archaeological searching equipment (GPR etc), human bone collection, and body fluid searching equipment such as Crimelite auto etc. 

The successful individual will join a small but successful team that is looking to develop and expand the forensic courses available at the university. 

NB.  If you are successful at interview, you will be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers and we will contact you if suitable work becomes available.
